New Members Information

New Puppy and Beginners classes begin on the first Sunday of each month

The Club membership office is open from 8:30am on the first Sunday of each month (excluding January). We ask all new members to sign up early to ensure classes can start on time. Please refer to the training page for clarification on class levels and times. To become a member of KODC you will need to complete a membership form and please ensure you bring a current vaccination certificate.

While new members are welcome to join the club any Sunday, it is important to remember that due to the class cycles, members need to wait until the first Sunday of the month before actually joining classes.  Of course, we welcome observers at any time.  Exceptions may be made for members transferring to Knox from another Club.

During the sign up process, please be patient as the volunteers at the club train their dogs as well and may be in a class. Club volunteers can be identified by Blue Instructor tops and club committee members will have committee printed on their name badges.

Prospective members are encouraged to visit the club any Sunday morning to view our facilities and to obtain advice on training equipment and advice on purchasing a puppy to suit your lifestyle.

PLEASE NOTE:

· There will be no training on KODC Trial days and long weekends. The Club is also in recess over late December and January.

· Child handlers must be 10 years of age and have a dog of suitable size and temperament to attend classes.

· We train in all weather conditions so appropriate clothing/footwear is essential. ie. Runners, hats and sun block in summer, gumboots and waterproof coats and hats and a towel to dry your dog off in winter.

· There are NO weekly fees in addition to the above membership fees.

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP TRAINING:

If other members of the family wish to train the dog they should do the course the following month.

This ensures all FAMILY MEMBERS gain the maximum benefit of the course without missing any important information. In later classes it is not so critical if the handler changes from time to time.
